What: Amnesty International is holding a series of evening events
to highlight the issue of mental health prejudice and discrimination to mark
World Mental Health Day.

First Workshop. Thursday 11 October: Challenging mental health prejudice and
discrimination
An introduction to Amnesty International’s mental health
campaign followed by an interactive workshop on positive mental health by
Aisling Richmond (Bodywise).
Everyone is welcome
to attend and the events are free of charge.

Thursday 18 October: Youth mental health
Presentation by Jigsaw on the unique challenges and issues
faced by young people and children with mental health difficulties.
Thursday 25 October: Support groups and the mental health
system
Interactive Q&A with mental health practitioners and
service users from the Galway Community Mental Health Service and Grow Galway.
Thursday 1 November: Positive mental health
Closing presentation by Amnesty International on challenging
mental health prejudice and discrimination and talks on positive mental health
with Paul Fallon (On the Road Again) and Aisling Richmond (Bodywise). This will
be followed by food, music and a chance for participants to meet and discuss
issues they’re interested in.
